A long sweep of empty beach near Forster-Tuncurry, NSW — golden sand, turquoise water, a distant headland in the Mid North Coast
Our Story

Where the ocean
meets the mountains.

A small farm on the Mid North Coast of NSW, near the coastal town of Forster-Tuncurry. Horses and cute fluffy chickens. A wildflower patch we harvest and dry by hand. A studio where every candle is poured, labelled, and boxed — one at a time.

Artisan, handpoured individually in our studio — based on our small farm on the Mid North Coast of NSW, where the ocean meets the mountains.

We live near the coastal town of Forster-Tuncurry. We run a few horses and cute fluffy chickens, grow vegetables, and tend wildflowers we dry for many of our fragrances and candle & soap ingredients.

Local pickup is available for online orders, and every candle ships direct from the bench it was poured on.

When you purchase from us, you become a valued priority to our day — a long-term commitment to excellence in customer service.

§ The maker

Meet Suzy.

Suzy McCarthy is the founder and sole maker behind Susa Australia. Based on a small working farm in Darawank, on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Suzy pours every candle by hand in her on-farm studio — from the first pour to the gift-box seal.

She grows and dries wildflowers from the property for use in fragrances and soap blends, and has been making things by hand for years before Susa Australia became her focus. The studio ships Australia-wide and opens its doors for in-person pickup Thursday to Saturday, 10am–4pm — drop in to browse the range or just say hello.

§ How we work

Three things we won't compromise on.

01

One pour at a time

Every candle in the Crystal Jar range is poured, set, labelled, and gift-boxed by one pair of hands. There is no assembly line. There is no shortcut. The small scale is the point.

02

What we grow, we use

The wildflower patch and vegetable garden aren't decoration — flowers are harvested, dried, and worked into our fragrances and soap blends. The farm is part of the product.

03

You are the reason

Every order is a person. When you buy from us, you become a priority for our day — not a ticket in a queue. That customer care is the long-term commitment we sign every candle with.

§ The farm

Vegetables, wildflowers,
and a few fluffy chickens.

The farm sits where the ocean meets the mountains — paperbark-surrounded, quiet, and busy in the way only a working property can be. Horses in the paddock. Chickens underfoot. Rows of wildflowers we cut and dry for the fragrances and soap blends we pour here.

It's not a photo-op farm. It's where the candles come from.

plainly stated.
